Are you looking for another way to search the web? Also would you like to see valid search results? Well take a look at topsy.com. When you load up the site you will start to see trending topics and also when you do perform a search, your results are based on the traffic these sites are given by the heavy hitters on the web. Lets say you have a widget and this is created by 2 companies. If the first companys link is blogged and tweeted by lets say techcrunch, that will show higher in the search results than the other company providing the same widget.
I always find it interesting to try out a new service. Not that I want to be the “first”, while that is always nice, the internet space is very interesting and I like to see the way it is heading. So what is this new service? If you have not jumped to the bottom of this page and are reading this word…for…word, it is called Groupme. Like most tools that require more than one user, I can see how this will really work. But the sms charges are going to be an issue. But in a work environment, this can be invaluable tool to a great team. Allowing you to chat one on one or to the entire group would be amazing. During the discovery phase of a new project bouncing ideas off one another and than getting the entire group on the phone to talk more about it. That is the excitement that gets the blood lowing. So go try it out and let me know. I would like to start a frankbrunke.com groupme, group. So let me know. Read more @ groupme.com

I can still remember the phone call. As a tech support representative at a local ISP, a caller said, do not worry the internet is just a fad. I wonder if that same caller is looking over these “fad” number. 107 trillion – The number of emails sent on the Internet in 2010. (I wonder how many are cc’s) 255 million – The number of websites as of December 2010. 39.1% – Growth in the number of Apache websites in 2010.(great news) 88.8 million – .COM domain names at the end of 2010. 14% – Increase in Internet users since the previous year. 152 million – The number of blogs on the Internet (as tracked by BlogPulse). The reach of the net is still small, as we start to invite more internet connected devices into our homes, we are going to see a major shift and connected will be the only way. Make sure you check out other amazing stats at: pingdom.com

If you are a small/medium/large business you need to be in social network, now. With all of the networks online, facebook, foursquare, gowalla and twitter just to name a few, now is a great time to get online. Even if you do not start posting, liking or checking in, at least you need to secure your location (name) and start to listen to the chatter. See what your competition is doing and as always learn from the mistakes of others. The item that made me think about creating a post if the twitter account that I follow for Dell. While not easy, and they have been very good at the plan they are executing, they have over 1.4 followers. With the ability to get a sale item in front of all those people with a link to buy the item, the generated income is great compared to the cost of delivery. If you have questions, let me know.
