delicious was maybe my first bookmarking service and it is great to see the site given a much-needed face lift. In the pre social days delicious was a network similar to twitter, simple and very powerful. Was it the effect of a big company coming in and buying it that hurt the traffic number, maybe, but I am going to be checking it out again.
But is it too late?
Delicious came at a time when you wanted to discover new sites and the search engines did not provide the real information we needed. I would search for topics in delicious and found amazing up-to-date results. It was also a great way to see what is trending.
One of the other reasons i really liked delicious was the central location for all of my bookmarks. You would have several computers to use during the day and connection to your delicious account allowed you to connect to your important sites. Now bookmark syncing is a common feature found in both firefox and chrome.
Delicious still has the discovery tool that will be very helpful.
